"On Thin Ice" is the 9th Army Band's Rock combo. They went all acoustic for this performance and featured their soulful singers, new shiny acoustic guitars and percussion instrument, the cajon. All most all the service members are home for the holidays this year and the band talked about what an honor it is to play each one of them back in the troop return ceremonies. Lori’s love for public broadcasting runs deep. She was raised on Car Talk, Morning Edition, Adventures in Good Music with Karl Haas, and later while studying wildlife biology at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, she realized that if she helped answer phones during the fund drive at KMUW, she could meet and chat with the hosts of locally produced shows.
