Fairbanks Four Hearing

An evidentiary hearing is scheduled to begin Monday in state court in Fairbanks in the case of 4 local men seeking exoneration from convictions for a nearly 2 decade old murder. George Frese, Marvin Roberts, Eugene Vent and Kevin Pease, men known as the “Fairbanks Four”, were convicted of the October 1997 beating death of 15 year old John Hartman on a downtown street.  Evidence brought forward in recent years points to others being responsible for the killing, and as KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, it will be laid out during the hearing.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
