Over the last two months University of Alaska Fairbanks’ Summer Sessions has been looking backwards. The school is observing its 100th anniversary and this summer some of its notable leaders have returned to campus to share their recollections. Michelle Bartlett who runs Summer Sessions was kind enough to invite me to be the interviewer for these events. She was also kind enough to let me use them for Northern Soundings. This episode retired U.S. General and UA President Mark Hamilton reflects not only on his time at the helm of the UA System but about the key events in his life the led to him to Alaska and the University.
