Fairbanks, AK – This week in a Fairbanks field, kings plot, a prince falls in love, and hope triumphs over despair. It's all in Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre's production of "The Winter's Tale." A cast of nearly 50 people brings the play to life on an outdoor stage that manages to include an ice-skating rink and a ski slope. In July, half the cast and crew will hit the road as the company goes on a month-long tour in Alaska and Canada.
As director Graham Watts tells KUAC's Libby Casey, the company chose to perform "The Winter's Tale" because it's one of William Shakespeare's most unique.
