The Alaska Live series of live performance and conversations with visiting and local artists is made possible from a generous grant from Design Alaska and contributors like you.

In this Alaska Live segment, three performers join host Lori Neufeld.  For the first half hour, Jamie Maschler brings her extensive knowledge and experience with the accordion to the studios.  And for the second half, guitarist Manuel Perez presents diverse pieces of music, from flamenco to rock 'n' roll.  He is also joined by flamenco dancer Lucia Artacho.


Two members of the new music group CORVUS return to their hometown of Fairbanks and perform for Alaska Live.  Violinist and Fairbanks Summer Arts Festival's New Music Coordinator, Andie Springer performs with her fellow band mate and flutist, Katie Cox.


Fairbanks-born fiddle player, Caitlin Warbelow has recently performed on the Tony Awards stage with the Broadway hit "Come From Away."  In this Alaska Live segment, she performs Celtic music alongside friends, Kyle Sanna and Isaac Alderson.


Mak Landry

Fairbanks Shakespeare Theatre celebrates its 25th Anniversary with one of Shakespeare's historic plays "King John". A select scene with a few cast members was central to this performance at the KUAC studios. Listen in for a preview of the production and hear how Shakespeare is done best, live and in the voices of Fairbanks Shakespeare local company.

Emma's Revolution

Emma's Revolution brings their brand of protest songs to the KUAC Studios.  The live audience also joined the duo in a sing-along or two.

The spirit of Gypsy Jazz is alive and well in the hands of this foursome. The Rhythm Future Quartet pays homage to Django Reinhardt with their ensemble name and musical style. Listen for standards, originals and covers all done in the style of Gypsy Jazz.

Talented Fairbanks musicians came together to hold a benefit for Meals on Wheels, a local non-profit that provides meals to in-need seniors. Pianist David Schlesinger and vocalists Sinobia Smith West, Willie Blackburn and Walter Jones pulled out all the stops for Alaska Live.

Mak Landry

Live performance and conversation with a studio audience marked this Alaska Live a special one. The Norris Bowers Band combines high-octane old time with all the drama and harmonies of bluegrass. Two Alaskan families that have been playing at the same festivals and around the same campfires for decades have gotten together to record an album "Gin Chicken" and tour the state. First stop on the Alaska Tour, KUAC's Alaska Live Archive Studio.
