The spirit of Gypsy Jazz is alive and well in the hands of this foursome. The Rhythm Future Quartet pays homage to Django Reinhardt with their ensemble name and musical style. Listen for standards, originals and covers all done in the style of Gypsy Jazz.

Talented Fairbanks musicians came together to hold a benefit for Meals on Wheels, a local non-profit that provides meals to in-need seniors. Pianist David Schlesinger and vocalists Sinobia Smith West, Willie Blackburn and Walter Jones pulled out all the stops for Alaska Live.

High Plains Jamboree is a newly-formed 4-member band of seasoned multi-instrumentalists out of Austin, Texas. The whole band writes songs and arranges selections tailored for their talents. Harmonies and great pickin' in the country and bluegrass tradition mark this Alaska Live session.

Born and raised in Alaska, Wes Colquette writes songs from the heart and the Alaskan experience. Colquette is releasing his debut "Gypsy Heart" in just a couple weeks and shared many selections and the stories behind the tunes. One song that Colquette played did make it on the show but not on the album because he had just wrote it hours before the show.

Lorna Eder started planning a UAF Collaborative Faculty Recital and needed to invite a fellow musician to join her. Dane Little is an accomplished performance musician and is also Eder's sibling. This session gives insightful background into the 20th century pieces and wonderfully played excerpts from their recital.

Beth Chrisman has had a big year with her Austin band, The Carper Family. They've played both A Prairie Home Companion and Mountain Stage. Younger sister Tara continues to front bands in Alaska and in this session they bring originals, sweet sister harmonies and a friend from Beth's original band to sing with them, Jessica Wood. Stories from the road and country tunes, both originals and classics abound in this session.
