Central Alaska Militia

A local militia leader is organizing an anti-gun-control rally that’ll be held next month in downtown Fairbanks, one of five to be held around the state to show support for the Second Amendment and other political causes.

The Central Alaska Militia hosted a rendezvous over the weekend at a remote site near Delta Junction for members of other militia groups from around the state. The leader of the local militia says the groups that showed up for the weekend training event are not associated with the now-defunct Alaska Peacekeepers Militia, the Fairbanks-based group that disbanded after its leader, Francis Schaeffer Cox, was sentenced to 26 years in prison earlier this year for plotting to murder federal and state judges and law enforcement agents.
