UAF Forwards Power Plant Proposal

Dan Bross

The University of Alaska Fairbanks is pushing ahead with a plan to replace its aging power and heating plant.  The current facility, built in 1962, will be replaced with one that still primarily relies on coal, but can also burn other fuels, including biomass and natural gas. KUAC’s Dan Bross reports.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
