Alaska State Troopers have released the names of two people found dead last week in their snowbound vehicle on the Steese Highway at Eagle Summit. A Trooper dispatch identifies them as 59-year-old John Carroll and 55-year-old Tonya Carroll, both of Circle. The couple reportedly left Fairbanks on the Steese Highway headed for Circle Tuesday January 2nd, and as KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, they encountered extreme weather where the road climbs through the mountains.
