Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993.  He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing. 

He graduated from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York with a degree in fine arts and environmental studies in 1987.  Snow and adventure lured Dan and wife Peggy to Alaska in 1992. The couple and their two kids enjoy cross country skiing, back packing and river trips.

Fairbanks North Star Borough’s administrative center remains shut down due to what officials describe as threatening communications. The Juanita Helms Administrative Center was closed Thursday night, just as the assembly was to begin meeting. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, no threat suspect has been publicly identified, but a local man suspects the situation is the result of his questioning borough authority.

A Fairbanks North Star Borough air quality stakeholders group is mulling over fifty proposals to reduce wintertime fine particulate pollution from wood, coal and oil burning. The borough formed group, met for a 3rd time Friday (Aug 17), and as KUAC’s Dan Bross reports the proposals before it are wide ranging.
