Fairbanks, AK – About 300 Fire Fighters are working to battle solstice complex fires in the yukon flats region. Residents in Venetie and Fort Yukon are pitching in to help crews do everything from building fire walls to cooking meals. Some residents say the collaborative efforts are top notch, while others are critical of the Bureau of Land Management for ever letting it get this large. KUAC's Bonnie-Sue Hitchcock has details:
