A search continues for a hiker missing in the mountains east of Fairbanks, near Chena Hot Springs Resort. Alaska State Troopers report that 21-year-old Evan Corneliussen of South Carolina, and his dog, were dropped off by friends at the Charlie Dome Trailhead Monday.
Troopers say a Department of Public Safety helicopter searched the area Thursday and saw human and dog footprints in the snow, but that subsequently deployed search dog teams did not turn up any conclusive leads. The search operation is continuing today (Friday).
