Polaris Deadline Extended

Dan Bross

There’s a chance a derelict downtown Fairbanks high rise will be spared demolition.  The long empty 11 story Polaris Building is owned by Anchorage developer Marc Marlow.  Marlow says he’s still pursuing a plan to turn the deteriorating 1950’s era hotel into apartments, but has refused to comment until he meets with the Fairbanks city council next month.  KUAC’s Dan Bross reports.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
