Police Provide New Information About June Shooting

Facebook/Fairbanks Police

Fairbanks Police say a man shot by police in June was prepared for violence. FPD held a press conference Thursday to share results of an investigation of the police killing of 21 year old Mathew Stover of Northway, after he opened fire on officers. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, police shared photo and video evidence of the deadly encounter, as well as extensive weaponry Stover had at the scene. The following story contains audio of the shooting.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
