U.S. Supreme Court To Hear Alaska Rivers Case

A dispute between an Alaska boater and the National Park Service will be heard by the highest court in the country this week (Weds Jan. 20). As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, lower courts have rejected Anchorage resident John Sturgeon’s suit challenging Park Service authority to regulate Alaska rivers, where they pass through federal conservation units.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
