Two people were killed in a car wreck Wednesday morning in Tok, and Alaska State Troopers suspect the driver was drinking.
Troopers say an officer responding to a report of a single-vehicle rollover found the bodies of two local residents in a heavily damaged pickup in the ditch off of Sourdough Lane in Tok.
Troopers identified the victims as 58-year-old Craig Burns and 34-year-old Alicia Thomas. Neither victim was wearing a seat belt.
Emergency personnel with Tok EMS helped extricate the bodies from the wreckage.
According to a Trooper report, alcohol is believed to be a factor. The State Medical Examiner’s office has requested the bodies for autopsy.
Troopers’ investigation into the wreck continues.
