Alaskan seafood is on the ballot. The Alaska Division of Elections is asking voters to participate in a mock election to learn more about Ranked Choice Voting.


The state Department of Health and Social Services has taken down its website and halted many online services in response to a cyberattack on the agency’s computer network. It’s the third reported case of hackers gaining access to a state-operated network over the past six months.

The state Division of Elections is preparing to again send out voter-information pamphlets to more than 4,800 households around Palmer. It’ll be the second time the Elections Division sends the pamphlets, because the agency sent the wrong version of the pamphlets the first time around.

Polls are open until 8 p.m. today in Alaska for our statewide primary election. In the Interior, House Districts 1 – 6, and 9 all have elections today as well as Senate District B.

The race to fill an open seat for House District 6 is shaping up to be the liveliest Legislative primary-election contest in the Interior. But voters in most other districts around the Interior won’t have a competitive race until the Nov. 3 general election.
