Interior Community Health Center

The Denali Borough will offer more COVID-19 testing beginning Monday in three communities. Borough Emergency Manager Chris Noel told the Assembly Wednesday the additional testing will be offered at two schools and the Tri-Valley Community Center in Healy.

Education Support Staff Association

The leaders of both the Fairbanks Education Association and the Education Support Staff Association are asking the Fairbanks North Star Borough School District to upgrade their employment contracts in the area of workplace safety. Each group is asking the school board at a special meeting tonight, Monday, January 11, to address the risks of children returning to school during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Fairbanks Education Association

The associations that represent Fairbanks-area teachers, principals and support staff released a statement Friday opposing the opening of schools in January.

Denali Borough School District officials decided Tuesday to close all three of its schools to in-class instruction through the holidays. The district superintendent says they made the decision to return to at-home online instruction after learning that two people who tested positive for COVID-19 had recently been inside Tri-Valley School in Healy.
