Updated: A Fairbanks grand jury has indicted 13 Fairbanks Correctional Center inmates on charges of rioting and criminal mischief related to an August 17th riot at the jail. The inmates took over a part of the jail for about an hour and a half before surrendering after they were tear-gassed by members of two tactical police units that were called in.

A judge has set bail at $750,000 for a Fairbanks man charged with two counts of attempted murder.

A man who allegedly shot one person and fired on another Tuesday in Fairbanks is in custody.

Alaska State Troopers say they’ve charged several inmates at Fairbanks Correctional Center with rioting and assault for their roles in a disturbance at the jail Thursday that led to a lockdown and street closure.

Alaska State Troopers and federal officers on Friday captured a man who skipped town on Jan. 21st, just before he was scheduled to begin serving time for a conviction on charges stemming from  a high-speed chase that ended in a 10-hour standoff with police in September. Michael Bracht, a former Dot Lake resident, was captured Friday in Tok.
