Shutdown Impacts Yukon Quest

Yukon Quest mushers dropped off bags of race food and other supplies in Fairbanks and Whitehorse over the weekend. The bags will be positioned at checkpoints along the thousand mile trail which is being set and marked in anticipation of the February 2nd start. Its standard procedure as the race nears, but as KUAC’s Lex Treinen reports, this year’s low snow cover, and ongoing partial federal government shutdown are complicating preparations.
