Final Wolf Kill In Eastern Interior

The state is preparing for the final season of its largest and longest running predator control program. The Upper Yukon Tanana aerial wolf kill has harvested about a thousand wolves from the calving grounds of Forty Mile caribou herd since 2004. As KUAC’’s Dan Bross reports, the controversial aerial shooting program is scheduled to sunset this spring so biologists can evaluate its effectiveness.
