Investigation Probes Safety Risks at Kennecott

The National Park Service is beginning a field assessment of hazardous materials at the Kennecott Mines National Historic Landmark in Wrangell St. Elias National Park. The copper mining property, which primarily operated between 1901 and 1938, was acquired by the Park Service in 1998, and as KUAC’s Dan Bross reports the agency aims to ensure public and staff safety at the historic site.
