Work has begun to reopen the Chena River State Recreation Site in Fairbanks. Once a popular campground, picnic spot and boat launch, the urban recreation site on University Avenue has been closed since 2020. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, the state and city of Fairbanks are working together to get the site at least partially reopened this season.
