City of Fairbanks

Meeting last night (Mon), the Fairbanks city council put off voting on the Mayor’s choice for police chief. Mayor Jim Matherly forwarded Fairbanks Police Lieutenant Ron Dupee’s name to the council for confirmation earlier this month. During public comments at last night’s meeting, there was a lot of support for Lt Dupee, but also criticism of a candidate review process employed by the mayor. KUAC’s Dan Bross reports.
