Fairbanks, AK – Journalists often strive to be objective. But that can be hard when you're eating meals and spending hours a day with your subject matter. Fairbanks Daily News-Miner reporter Margaret Friedenauer recently returned from 6 weeks in Iraq, where she not only spent time with Alaskan troops, she put her life in their hands. As Friedenauer tells KUAC's Libby Casey, she may have looked like the soldiers with body armor and a helmet, but she never forgot she was there to be a journalist.
