The University of Alaska Fairbanks is gearing up to transform a newly acquired research facility into a financially self-sustaining entity. Last week UAF formally accepted ownership of the High Frequency Active Auroral Research program facility, known as HAARP, north of Gulkana. As KUAC’s Robert Hannon reports, through a two million dollar loan, the University hopes to attract scientists and research dollars to what it touts as world class research site.
