Fairbanks annual celebration of summer has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The Midnight Sun Festival which draws big crowds to the city’s downtown for music and food, has been called off by the Downtown Association, which puts on the summer solstice event.
In a statement Downtown Association executive director David Vandenberg says the decision to cancel was made in the QUOTE: “best interest of community health”
The association which raises funds with the event, describes the June 21st festival as Alaska's largest single day event.
