Ray LaMontagne says the shape of his sixth album, Ouroboros, revealed itself to him as a whole in a dream. An easy-to-interpret dream, at that: A colorful puzzle representing the songs assembled itself as a whole picture as he slept.
LaMontagne worked with My Morning Jacket's Jim James and others, including Seth Kaufman (who was part of the team for LaMontagne's last album, Supernova) to provide depth and coloration.
It's almost a shame to separate one of the parts from that beautiful whole, so listen for a live performance of the entire album, coming soon to your radio on World Cafe. Until then, watch Ray LaMontagne and The Jacket Boys (from My Morning Jacket) perform a powerful extended version of "Hey, No Pressure" on stage at World Cafe Live in Philadelphia.
