StoryCorps and KUAC – we tell stories that would otherwise go untold
KUAC celebrates 50 years of telling stories that would otherwise go untold with a visit from StoryCorps, October 1-5, 2012! If you or someone you know has a story to tell, find out about the possibility of recording it together, to share and preserve it, when StoryCorps visits Fairbanks in October. Interview time-slots are limited, and five slots will be available by raffle. Details and a form to share your stories up will be available on our website starting Sept. 4th 2012.

StoryCorps, a national oral history project, collects stories through personal conversations between two people who know each other well, or want to get to know each other better. A small selection of StoryCorps interviews are edited for broadcast on NPR’s Morning Edition, which airs Fridays on KUAC. All StoryCorps participants receive a broadcast-quality copy of their 40-minute interview on CD at the end of their session, and all interviews recorded in Fairbanks will be archived in the Library of Congress.
Begin a thoughtful dialogue…join the conversation of a lifetime…tell us something interesting about yourself or someone you know, or in honor of our anniversary, a story about how public broadcasting changed your life!
Every voice matters – make yours heard with KUAC! Watch this website for more details on how to sign up, or call 907-474-1890 to learn more about this special opportunity and how you and a friend or family member might participate.

Listen to StoryCorp features or watch animated short stories, featuring some of StoryCorps’ best-loved radio stories.
KUAC thanks Fairbanks Memorial Hospital and Denali Center for sponsoring StoryCorps’s visit to Fairbanks!
