A microgreens farm in North Pole gave away free food on Mothers Day. The farmers say they’re concerned about food scarcity in Alaska, and have decided to help feed vulnerable people through a local soup kitchen.

Agencies trying to deal with area homelessness are getting ready for an annual count of people who need services. In Fairbanks, a coalition of groups will conduct an overnight count on Monday, January 30, then try to connect people with services they offer.
