Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993.  He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans Alaska pipeline and dog mushing. 

He graduated from St. Lawrence University in upstate New York with a degree in fine arts and environmental studies in 1987.  Snow and adventure lured Dan and wife Peggy to Alaska in 1992. The couple and their two kids enjoy cross country skiing, back packing and river trips.

Super Tour Skiathlon

Alaska skiers turned in strong performances Monday night as the Super Tour finals got underway in Fairbanks. The first of this week’s spring series races at the Birch Hill Recreation Area were skiathlon events, which include both classic and skate technique legs. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, the racing and snow did not disappoint.

Fairbanks North Star Borough residents are going to have to find ways to burn less and cleaner to bring the community into compliance with federal air quality regulations. That’s the message from Environmental Protection Agency representatives in town this week to discuss chronic wintertime fine particulate pollution in some Fairbanks and North Pole neighborhoods. KUAC’s Dan Bross reports.
