Burning Death Prompts Questions and Concerns

The Fairbanks Native community and local officials came together yesterday (Thurs) to share information about the recent fire death of a homeless man.  Johnny Wallis, a long time Fairbanks resident who lived on the streets, was found burning in the downtown post office on New Year’s Day.  As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, yesterday’s press conference provided a range of views, but little clarity on the disturbing incident.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
