City Delays Action On Marijuana Club Ban Proposal

The Fairbanks City Council has put off consideration of an ordinance that would outlaw marijuana clubs. Clubs which do not sell the drug, but provide a venue for paying members to consume it, have sprung up in Alaska since the passage of a statewide marijuana legalization initiative in 2014. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, the Fairbanks City council is deferring to state legislators on the club issue.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
