Army Taking Additional Action to Combat High Suicide Rate Among Alaska Soldiers

US Army Alaska soldier suicides significantly increased in 2021. The fatalities follow major efforts at Ft. Wainwright to improve access to mental health care and quality of life. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, the Army’s Alaska commander met with reporters Friday to discuss the suicide issue and additional programs and initiatives to identify and help struggling soldiers.
