Three Bears Alaska says it’s interested in two acquiring two Sourdough Fuel gas station-convenience stores in North Pole. And Three Bears is continuing to work on other expansion plans around the state, says Joan Travostino, the company’s vice president for business development.

Travostino said in an email Tuesday that Three Bears only wants two Sourdough Fuel gas station-convenience stores, not four, as Three Bears Marketing Director Jim Kolb said Friday.

Travostino said the company, quote, “anticipate(s) opening Three Bears facilities in the two existing Sourdough Fuel locations in North Pole after the government permitting is approved.”

A Sourdough Fuel official said Monday that the company is waiting for a liquor-license transfer to move ahead on selling the gas station at 3330 Badger Road. The company’s other gas station in town is located in the North Pole Plaza.

Kolb declined to comment on the record Tuesday.

Travostino also said Three Bears is in discussions now with the owners of two other properties the company is considering buying, one in Delta Junction and the other in Unalaska. But no final decisions have been made on acquiring those properties.
