1. State Representative Ashley Carrick is being challenged by Ruben McNeil for the House District 35 seat that represents the west side of Fairbanks and outlying areas along the Parks Highway.
2. Conservative Alaska Independence Party candidate John Wayne Howe of Fairbanks may be getting support from the liberal-leaning Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
3. An Alaska Department of Health report says fewer babies were born in Alaska in 2023 than in previous years, but it adds that there were also fewer deaths in the state.
