3. The 2026 Permanent Fund dividend is worth $1,200 per recipient, and it’ll be direct-deposited into Alaskans’ bank accounts starting today.

4. Over the weekend, hundreds of people gathered in the small Seward Peninsula village of Teller for two nights of singing, drumming and celebration

5. Wednesday was Orange Shirt Day, a day to commemorate the loss of Indigenous peoples' lives, language and culture caused by residential schools in the United States and Canada.
