1. Preliminary unofficial results from Tuesday’s municipal election in the Fairbanks North Star Borough show a few tight races and one clear winner – the borough’s biennial tax cap.

2. Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins raised more than twice as much over the past two months than all three of his Republican rivals combined.

3. The U.S. Energy Department announced Monday that it has OK'd $150 million to partially fund a second electrical intertie to run from the Interior to Southcentral.

4. An investigation has commenced into a Haines group that advertised free gifts, like a cup of coffee, to anyone who votes in Tuesday’s municipal election.

5. The U.S. Navy commissioned its newest destroyer Saturday in Whittier. The U.S.S. Ted Stevens is named for Alaska’s legendary, longtime U.S. Senator.
