11-04-26 KUAC MORNING NEWS

KUAC News Senior Reporter/Producer Tim Ellis

Wednesday Nov. 4, 2026 KUAC News stories:

1. With more than 80% of precincts reporting, Republican U.S. Sen. Dan Sullivan has a slight lead over Democrat Mary Peltola in Alaska’s tight U.S. Senate race. (This story and others that follow all are based on unofficial results from the Alaska Division of Elections.)

2. Democrat Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins has a substantial lead in the race for governor.

3. Early election results show Alaskans opting to keep ranked choice voting, open primaries and campaign finance rules aimed at unmasking donors.

4. Unofficial results for state House and Senate races around the Interior show Frank Tomaszewski handily winning the open District Q seat. And Maxine Dibert, Mike Prax, Joy Beth Cottle, Ashley Carrick and Rebecca Schwanke all are leading in their races for House seats.

5. Voters showed up in droves on Tuesday in Delta Junction to cast ballots in the 2026 mid-term election. And some grumbled about the tsunami of political advertisements they’ve had to endure for the past several months
