Ukulele Russ and The Parks Highway Band

Ukulele Russ is an entertainer at heart with Alaska on his mind when writing songs. Ukulele Russ performs solo often but enjoys having the trio together, Dr. Jones from Talkeetna on percussion and Pat "The Rat" from Anchorage on electric bass. Between the three of them, a gig somewhere along the Parks Highway is just a short trip from home. This session is all original songs performed by Ukulele Russ and The Parks Highway Band.

Lori’s love for public broadcasting runs deep. She was raised on Car Talk, Morning Edition, Adventures in Good Music with Karl Haas, and later while studying wildlife biology at Bethel College in North Newton, Kansas, she realized that if she helped answer phones during the fund drive at KMUW, she could meet and chat with the hosts of locally produced shows.
