Pease, Vent Testify in 'Fairbanks Four' Proceeding

Two of the Fairbanks Four say they lied to police about some of what they did the October 1997 night John Hartman was attacked, but maintain they did so out of fear and confusion, not guilt. Kevin Pease and Eugene Vent took to the stand yesterday (Tues) at an ongoing evidentiary hearing to consider whether they and 2 others also convicted of the crime, George Frese and Marvin Roberts are innocent. KUAC’s Dan Bross reports.

Dan has been in public radio news in Alaska since 1993. He’s worked as a reporter, newscaster and talk show host at stations in McGrath, Valdez and Fairbanks. Dan’s experience includes coverage of a wide range of topics, from wolf control to the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and dog mushing.
