The Chena River State Recreation Site partially reopened Friday. The site on the Chena River in Fairbanks is open for day use after having been closed since June 2020 due to the pandemic, the University Avenue reconstruction project, and most significantly chronic crime. As KUAC’s Dan Bross reports, there’s cautious optimism that recent changes will improve safety.
