Susie Hackett
FM On-air hostSusie became a volunteer announcer at KUAC in 1991 and an on-call announcer in 1994. She began broadcasting during high school in Pennsylvania, where she produced and hosted a weekly current events program. After graduating from Syracuse University with a minor in radio and television studies, she worked at WCAU-TV in Philadelphia.
Susie has been a KUAC board operator on Tuesday evenings since she started at the station. She is one of KUAC’s “Afternoon Concert” hosts, has hosted the Sunday opera broadcasts for several years and announces during news & information programming as needed. Film narrations include “Finding The Pieces” and “The Aurora Explained,” both produced by KUAC-TV.
The Hackett family moved to Alaska in 1971. In addition to raising a son and daughter with husband Jim, Susie has appeared in over 25 roles with community & professional theatres.
