Kinross gold mine ore-hauling truck wrecks, spills 2 trailer loads
A Black Gold ore-hauling truck wrecked Friday on a stretch of the Richardson Highway just south of Birch Lake. No one was injured, but traffic was backed-up in both directions for about an hour while the truck was pulled out of a ditch.

North Carolina's Green River Race draws hundreds to help with Helene clean up
The only way to have watched the Green River kayak race in person was to hike down a two-mile steep ravine - a trek so strenuous that it parallels the vertical waterfalls the kayakers embark in. Since Helene, the Green River is now littered with debris and its fate as a whitewater destination is unknown.
