A race official was rescued Sunday near Rampart after snow machining into overflow while out checking on musher Jonah Bacon, who was slowed by fresh snow on his way to the checkpoint.

The Quest 750 is being re-routed and another musher has scratched.

Competition is tightening at the front of the Yukon Quest Alaska 750.

The field is beginning to sort out as the race moves down the Yukon River.
